BANGKOK — Revisit a world of weird where men warm themselves by an immolating monk or take selfies in front of flaming air disasters, all to reflect real life somehow.

Well, the guy behind the dark humor is coming back to Bangkok. About 20 pieces by well-known Spanish cartoonist Joan Cornella will be among 500 works taking over 34 suites across six floors of a luxury hotel for the fifth Hotel Art Fair Bangkok.

Apart from Cornella’s comics, more than 30 galleries and artists will participate. They include Malaysia’s G13 Gallery, WE Gallery from Shenzhen as well as local artists such as illustrator Pomme Chan, who designed a poster for the 2015 Academy Awards announcement, jewelry designer-gallerist Atinuj “Atty” Tantivit and photographer-painter Viranod Buranasiri.

Admission is free. The event will open to public from 10am to 8pm on June 9 and June 10 at 137 Pillars Suites & Residences on Soi Sukhumvit 39. It can be reached by motorbike or taxi from BTS Phrom Phong.
