US Embassy in Thailand in Collaboration With Iconsiam Presents a Music Performance by the US Air Force Band of the Pacific and the Royal Thai Navy Music Band on the Occasion of Independence Day 2019 and in Celebration of U.S. –Thai Friendship on June 29, 2019 at River Park, Iconsiam
On the occasion of 200th anniversary of U.S. –Thai friendship, U.S. Embassy in Thailand in collaboration with ICONSIAM invites all Thais to enjoy the music performance by the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific and the Royal Thai Navy Music Band – the bands from professional musicians who also fulfill military functions- in the celebration of Independence Day 2019 and U.S. –Thai friendship on June 29, 2019 at River Park, ICONSIAM. Interested audiences are invited to join for free.
The United States Air Force Band of the Pacific was established for over 50 years at Eglin Field, Florida by the joined alliance of musical-talented cadres. At the present time, The band is made up of the popular music groups namely Pacific Trends, the Pacific Showcase jazz ensemble, and other protocol groups. The band gives an average of 200 performances a year for over 125,000 people. The band’s performances have included programs for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and musical support for the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization.
In the event, the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific and the Royal Thai Navy Music Band will perform the beautiful songs for Thai people to enjoy with the stunning view of the Chao Phraya River. The songs to be performed includes Somewhere Over the Rainbow, What a Difference a Day Made, Beyond the Sea, and royal-composed songs of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great including Near Dawn (Klai-roong), Falling Rain (Sai-Fon), and Hungry Man’s Blues. This performance is also for the celebration U.S. –Thai 200 years of friendship.
