Car bursts into flames on Si Rat Expressway in Bangkok

BANGKOK — 7 August 2026, A private car was almost completely destroyed after catching fire on the Si Rat Expressway on Friday morning, causing heavy traffic congestion near the Prachanukun toll plaza.

The incident occurred on the four-lane expressway near the entrance to the Prachanukun toll plaza, where a white Bangkok-registered passenger car caught fire in the engine compartment while stopped in the far-right lane.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 10 minutes, but the vehicle was almost entirely destroyed.
