Fire breaks out in Triam Udom Suksa School library

BANGKOK — 26 August 2026, A fire broke out in the library of Triam Udom Suksa School on Phaya Thai Road, with firefighters and rescue crews deployed to control the blaze.

The Bangrak Fire and Rescue Station reported that its crews were dispatched to assist with the fire at the school, which is located in Pathum Wan district and falls under the responsibility of the Banthat Thong Fire and Rescue Station.

The fire was reported at 10:03 a.m. in a two-storey concrete building. The blaze started on the ground floor in the library, where bookshelves and an air-conditioning unit were found burning.

The fire affected an estimated area of about 5 square meters. Members of the public used fire extinguishers to put out the blaze before fire trucks arrived.

Firefighters subsequently ventilated the building to clear smoke and heat.

Authorities initially suspect that an electrical short circuit involving a lighting fixture caused the fire.

No injuries or deaths were reported. Officials are continuing to inspect the scene to determine the exact cause of the fire.
