Motorcyclist killed after hitting dog and being struck by pickup

PATHUM THANI — 12 September 2026, A 36-year-old motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle hit a dog, causing him to fall onto the road before he was struck by a pickup truck on Phahonyothin Road in Khlong Luang district.

Khlong Luang police were alerted to the crash on the outbound side of Phahonyothin Road, on the parallel carriageway in Khlong Nueng subdistrict, on Saturday.

Police, traffic officers, a forensic doctor from Thammasat University Hospital and Ruam Katanyu Foundation volunteers went to the scene.

The victim was identified as Pruettinan Tong-on, 36. His body was found in the middle of the road, with his left leg severed.

Nearby, police found a damaged Honda Wave motorcycle bearing a Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya licence plate.

About 50 metres away, an Isuzu pickup truck with a Bangkok licence plate was parked. The vehicle’s licence plate and front bumper showed signs of impact.

The pickup was driven by Watthana Silanamthiang, 47, who remained at the scene and gave a statement to police.

Police photographed and documented the scene as evidence. Ruam Katanyu Foundation volunteers were assigned to take the body for a detailed post-mortem examination.

Authorities will contact the victim’s relatives to collect the body and arrange religious rites.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
