Foo Fighters Fans Throw Tribute Shows in August in Bangkok

BANGKOK — Music fans are more than ready to meet American rock legends Foo Fighters and will celebrate the band’s upcoming arrival 21 years after their last Bangkok performance.

Bangkok rockers will pour their hearts into two Foo Fighters tribute shows next month, before the band, led by frontman Dave Grohl, will play “The Pretender,” “Best of You,” “Everlong” and many more in their upcoming August concert at Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani.

Kick Off Goals, PKT and Dead Rabbit are among local bands that will feature in Foo Fest, which will cover Foo Fighters songs.

Games and special shows will take place along with a showcase of Foo Fighters collectables. Tickets are available online for 300 baht and include one drink. The first 50 ticket holders will get a Foo Fighters pin and poster.

The event will run from 6:30pm until midnight on August 2 at Parking Toys on Kaset-Nawamin Road in the Lat Phrao area.

Dave Grohl Rules

Five local bands will take turns covering the best of three bands of which lead singer Dave Grohl has been part – Foo Fighters, Nirvana and Queens of the Stone Age – at a rock music venue on Phaya Thai Road.

The tribute bands are Boo Bighber, Jimmy Revolt , Virginia Man, Founder and CEO and Nippan.

Tickets purchased in advance are 200 baht and include one drink. Tickets at the door will cost 250 baht. Dave Grohl Rules runs from 8pm until late on August 4 at The Rock Pub. The rock music-focused bar can be reached from BTS Ratchathewi’s exit No. 2.
