BANGKOK — Doesn’t matter whether you’re a bike geek or not when you can get into gear with music and people at a community block party later this month.
Bangkok’s first bike co-op located in the riverside Yan Nawa district will throw a block party in a small alley off Charoen Krung Road with food, drinks, music, art and of course, bikes.

Delivering sounds to the street will be Tul Waitoonkiat and Pinart “Pump” Chotikasatian of Apartment Khunpa; Mike Corde aka DJ Lows; Michael Selby and others. Jeff Ross will create silkscreen prints live.
Thai craft Sandport Beer will be on tap as will 60 baht slices from Gallery Pizza. Anyone who arrives by bike will get a free mystery drink billed as Don Kuson Jungle Juice. A raffle will take place with prizes valued in the “thousands of baht.”
Any money leftover at the end of the night will go to furthering the shop’s ongoing mission to expand access to bike tools and workshops.
The Don Kuson Community Bike Shop was opened one year ago by Nebraska native Alexander Martin.
The party will run from 3pm to 10pm on Aug. 27 at the Don Kuson Community Bike Shop. In lieu of pedaling there, head to BTS Saphan Taksin and take a taxi or walk about 10 minutes into Soi Charoen Krung 57 (Soi Don Kuson).
