BANGKOK — See previously unseen works by legendary street artist Mamafaka Friday at a retrospective of his career.
Part memorial and part look back at the familiar and lesser-known works of Pharuephon “Tum” Mukdasanit, aka Mamafaka, the exhibition will include the iconic street and pop art depictions of fluffy monsters that brought him fame.
Mamafaka, who hailed from Khon Kaen, drowned in 2013 at 34 in Phuket. He had built a successful career on the shoulders of an array of iconic characters such as the instantly recognizable Mr. Hell Yeah – a fluffy horned cyclops.
Mamafaka merchandise, such as T-shirts and posters, will be sold at the exhibition and live DJs will drop beats on the opening night.
In Memory of Legendary Mamafaka will take place at 6pm from Friday through Saturday at Urface shop on the second floor of Siam Discovery, which can be reached by BTS Siam. Entrance is free.
