SUVARNABHUMI — A British national was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport upon his return to Thailand after allegedly falsifying the loss of his company’s land deed and fraudulently selling the property to another party.

Police Colonel Theeraphast Yangyuen and Police Lieutenant Colonel Woraphot Lalitjirakul of the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) apprehended Mr. Quentin, 57, at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan province on January 15.
The arrest was made following an outstanding warrant for filing false police reports and causing government officials to record false information in official documents.
The arrest warrant, issued on December 24, 2024, came after investigators discovered that Quentin, who previously served as a director of a Pattaya-based company alongside his Thai wife, had orchestrated an elaborate fraud scheme.
According to police reports, Quentin falsely reported the company’s land deed as lost to local police, using this claim to obtain a replacement deed from the Land Department. However, the original deed was actually in his Thai wife’s possession.
After obtaining the duplicate deed, the suspect allegedly forged company meeting documents and fraudulently sold all company shares along with the property to new buyers for nearly 20 million baht, without the knowledge or consent of the original shareholders.
The scheme unraveled when the original shareholders discovered unknown individuals operating the business premises. Upon investigating with the Department of Business Development, they found their names had been removed from the company registration documents and replaced with new shareholders.
Further investigation at the Land Department revealed unauthorized changes to the property’s ownership, leading to the filing of a criminal complaint with the ECD.
Authorities had been waiting for Quentin’s return to Thailand to execute the arrest warrant. The case highlights growing concerns over property fraud involving foreign nationals in Thailand’s real estate sector.
