BANGKOK — 28 August 2026, Police are searching for a motorcyclist who allegedly struck and killed a 72-year-old woman at a pedestrian crossing in Bangkok’s Suksawat area before fleeing the scene with two passengers.
A Facebook user named “Suttichujit Bara” posted a plea for help along with CCTV footage of the incident, asking the public to provide information that could help identify the rider and passengers.
The crash occurred at around 06:38 on 25 August at a pedestrian crossing in front of Bangpakok 1 International Hospital on Suksawat Road, near Suksawat Soi 25/1–25/2.
The victim, identified as Wilaiphorn Sutthichujit, 72, was crossing the road when she reached the median. A motorcycle allegedly approached at high speed in the far-right lane and failed to stop for the pedestrian, hitting her with considerable force.
She suffered severe injuries and was taken to Bangpakok 1 International Hospital, where she later died.
The motorcycle rider allegedly fell with the bike after the collision, but got back up, lifted one of the injured passengers onto the motorcycle and fled without stopping to check on the victim.
CCTV footage reviewed by Bangkok authorities reportedly shows that three people were riding the motorcycle. The rider was described as a heavy-set man wearing a long-sleeved jacket. The other two passengers were a man and a woman.
The motorcycle was identified as a blue Honda PCX with a food-delivery box. However, none of the available CCTV footage clearly shows its licence plate.
The victim’s family has appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or travelled through the area between 06:20 and 06:50 on 25 August to come forward with dashcam, rear-camera, mobile-phone or nearby CCTV footage.
The family said even footage showing only part of the licence plate or the motorcycle’s route could provide an important lead for investigators.
The victim’s relatives have also filed a complaint with Pol. Lt. Jeerasak Homnan, deputy investigation inspector at Rat Burana Police Station, to assist authorities in tracking down those involved and taking legal action.
