Man accused of killing ex-girlfriend and her new partner in pickup ramming

BANGKOK — 3 September 2026, A 23-year-old man is accused of using his pickup truck to ram his ex-girlfriend and the man she was riding with on a motorcycle, killing both in Bangkok’s Wong Sawang area early Wednesday.

The crash was reported at about 01:00 near Bangkok-Nonthaburi Soi 39, close to a U-turn beneath the Pink Line rail route, police said.

The two victims, a 24-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, were found dead near the central concrete barrier. Their bodies were sent to Phramongkutklao Hospital’s forensic department.

The 23-year-old pickup driver was taken to Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital in critical condition after emergency workers performed CPR for about 20 minutes. Police said they had asked medical staff to keep him in custody pending legal proceedings.

A badly damaged Honda motorcycle was found about three metres away. Officers also found suspected methamphetamine tablets and crystal meth at the scene, which were collected as evidence.

Relatives of the woman told police that she had ended a year-long relationship with the pickup driver around two months ago, alleging that he had repeatedly assaulted and threatened her after the breakup.

They said the driver allegedly followed the woman after seeing her leave on the motorcycle with the other man near Wat Liap Rat Bamrung, before deliberately crashing into them.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage and will question the driver once his condition improves. The investigation is continuing.
