Authorities raided a popular entertainment venue in Bueng Kan early on 1 November 2026, finding 36 customers under the age of 20, including a 12-year-old, and alleging that the venue had been operating without a licence.
The inspection took place at around 01:30 at Khapkhang Bueng Kan, also known as Rich Club, in Village 10 of Bueng Kan subdistrict, Mueang district. The operation was led by provincial administrative officials and police from Mueang Bueng Kan Police Station.
Officials said the venue served food and alcoholic beverages, hosted live music and employed a DJ, operating until 03:00. They said these activities qualified it as an entertainment venue under the law, but it did not have the required operating licence.
During the raid, officers found 36 customers under the age of 20 inside the premises. The youngest was reportedly 12 years old.
Officials also found an object resembling an illegal drug on the floor. Urine tests were conducted on employees and customers, but no drugs were detected, according to the authorities.
The venue’s manager and supervisor were arrested and charged with operating an entertainment venue without a licence, illegal sale and advertising of alcoholic beverages, selling alcohol beyond permitted hours, and selling alcoholic drinks to children and people under the age of 20, among other alleged offences.
The suspects and seized evidence were handed over to investigators at Mueang Bueng Kan Police Station for legal proceedings.
Authorities are also compiling evidence to submit to the Bueng Kan governor, who will consider ordering the venue’s closure for five years.
