2nd Russian-Thai Investment Forum 2026 Set for Bangkok This October

Forum to Highlight “A New Era of Economic Partnership” Between Russia and Thailand

BANGKOK, THAILAND — 18 September 2026 — The Russian-Thai Business Council (RTBC) has announced preparations for the second Russian-Thai Investment Forum 2026 (RTIF2026), which will take place from 29–31 October 2026 at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok.

Held under the theme “Russia–Thailand: A New Era of Economic Partnership,” this year’s Forum is supported by leading international economic institutions, including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Roscongress Foundation, and the Russian Export Center, together with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Thailand, the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai-Russian Business Council, the Board of Trade of Thailand, as well as leading companies and development institutions from both countries.

Mr. Ivan Demchenko, Chairman of the Russian-Thai Business Council, said: “We see significant potential to further strengthen economic relations between Russia and Thailand. I am confident that RTIF2026 will serve as an important mechanism for unlocking opportunities and turning this potential into concrete outcomes. The Forum will not only provide Russian and Thai businesses with opportunities to build networks and connect with development institutions and regulatory authorities in both countries, but will also help create an environment conducive to the development of long-term investment projects in Russia and across Southeast Asia.”

Reflecting this commitment to strengthening bilateral economic ties, RTIF2026 will serve as an important gathering point for representatives of government agencies, business associations, development institutions, leading companies, investors and entrepreneurs from the Russian Federation, the Kingdom of Thailand and countries across Southeast Asia. The Forum will provide a platform to exchange perspectives, build networks and engage in direct business matchmaking, with the aim of translating shared interests and opportunities into tangible and actionable investment projects.

Building on the Success of Phuket Towards an International Business Platform

The Bangkok edition of RTIF2026 follows the strong momentum generated by the inaugural Forum, held in Phuket in late 2025. The first edition attracted more than 1,100 in-person participants from over 10 countries, facilitated more than 150 B2B meetings, and generated potential investment projects with a combined value exceeding USD 3 billion, equivalent to more than THB 100 billion.

Three-Day Programme Focused on Core Industries and the New Economy

Building on the Forum’s objective of strengthening practical economic cooperation, the RTIF2026 programme has been structured around both the industries that have long underpinned economic relations between Russia and Thailand and emerging sectors with strong potential for future growth. The programme will move from established areas of cooperation towards new economic opportunities, creating a comprehensive platform for dialogue, networking and business development. 29 October 2026 will serve as the Forum’s official welcome and networking day, dedicated to a sports hockey event, B2B meetings, and cultural activities.

The business programme will begin on 30 October 2026 with “Drivers of Core Industries”, focusing on the core industries that form the foundation of both economies, including metallurgy, agriculture and food security and sustainable energy. Discussions will also address certification and standards, transportation and logistics systems, highlighting opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation, improve connectivity and facilitate cross-border business.

On 31 October 2026, the Forum will continue with “Drivers of the New Economy”, shifting the focus to emerging businesses and future-oriented industries that are playing an increasingly important role in the modern economy. Key areas will include medicine and pharmaceuticals, healthcare and wellness, the platform economy, and digital ecosystems, alongside creative industries, real estate and HoReCa (hotels, restaurants and catering), tourism, financial infrastructure, and the sports economy.

Together, these sessions are designed to provide participants with a broader perspective on the evolving areas of Russia-Thailand economic cooperation and identify new opportunities for investment, partnerships and market development.

Business Opportunities Combined with Cultural Exchange

Complementing the business programme, a diverse range of cultural and sporting activities will further strengthen people-to-people ties between Russia and Thailand.

The Forum will feature an EXPO showcasing Russian and Thai companies, alongside Moscow Days in Bangkok.

The MIR Russian–Thai Cultural Festival and the Made in Russia Festival & Fair, held as part of the Forum programme, will showcase products, food, cultural performances and music from both countries, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience the traditions and creativity of Russia and Thailand. Guests of the 2nd Russian–Thai Investment Forum will also enjoy a special theatrical performance featuring artists from Russia and Thailand, alongside sporting activities including badminton and ice hockey.

With its combination of high-level dialogue, sector-focused discussions, business matchmaking and cultural exchange, RTIF2026 is designed to bring together key stakeholders to translate bilateral economic interest into practical cooperation, business partnerships and investment opportunities.

Registration is now open to government agencies, business associations, companies, investors, entrepreneurs and organisations interested in participating in the Forum.

The second Russian-Thailand Investment Forum (RTIF2026) will be held under the theme “Russia–Thailand: A New Era of Economic Partnership” from 29–31 October 2026 at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok.
