Thailand’s U17 women’s volleyball team bounced back from their opening defeat to beat hosts Chile 3-1 at the FIVB U17 Women’s Volleyball World Championship on 8 August 2026.
Thailand lost the opening set 19-25 but recovered to win the next three sets 25-20, 25-17 and 25-15.
The Thai team had opened their campaign with a 0-3 loss to Turkey but showed improved form and confidence against Chile.
Captain Jamikorn Kankaew led Thailand with 20 points, while Natthamon Ajakchue contributed 18 points.
Thailand are in Group A alongside the United States, Czech Republic, Turkey, Egypt and Chile.
Thailand will face the Czech Republic at 04:00 on 9 August.
