PHUKET — 25 September 2026, Phuket is preparing to welcome home 16-year-old Nene Royal after the young singer and guitarist from the province won the America’s Got Talent 2026 title.
At a press briefing at Phuket City Hall at 08:30 on Friday, Phuket Deputy Governor Romdon Haji-Awae, speaking on behalf of Phuket Governor Chotinerin Kerdsom, highlighted the achievement of Nene Royal, whose real name is Rattikan Amloy.
The provincial administration congratulated Nene on her victory, describing it as a source of pride for Phuket and Thailand, particularly as the 16-year-old took her talent to an international stage and brought recognition to her hometown and country.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate Nene. She is a source of pride for all of us in Phuket and for all Thai people,” Romdon said.
“Her success will inspire many others to pursue their dreams. At just 16, what she has achieved is truly remarkable,” he added.
Romdon said Nene’s achievement was not only a source of pride for Phuket but could also inspire local children and young people to develop their talents and have the confidence to pursue their dreams at national and international levels.
The Phuket administration is currently coordinating with Nene’s team to confirm her travel schedule and plans to organize a welcome event when she returns to the province.
The homecoming will be held under the theme “FROM PHUKET. TO THE WORLD. — Welcome Home, Nene Royal.”
The slogan reflects Nene’s journey from Phuket to the global stage and her return home as an America’s Got Talent champion.
Phuket officials said the welcome would also give local residents an opportunity to celebrate Nene’s achievement and show their support for the young star.
The provincial administration congratulated Nene once again and said it hoped her success would inspire Phuket’s children and young people to dream big, develop their talents and pursue opportunities on stages around the world.
