BANGKOK — 19 January 2026, Nualphan Lamsam said that FIFA has confirmed Thailand will host the FIFA Women’s Series 2026, making it the first country in Asia to stage the tournament.
In a Facebook post, Nualphan, also known as “Madam Pang” and president of the Football Association of Thailand, said the international governing body had formally approved Thailand’s bid to host the event from 9–15 April 2026 in Ratchaburi province.
The FIFA Series is a pilot project aimed at increasing international participation in both men’s and women’s football. The format brings together teams from different continents to compete, exposing players, coaches and fans to varied styles of play while supporting development on and off the pitch. FIFA has also highlighted the potential for broader international trade and growth in emerging markets linked to the tournament.
Thailand will host four women’s national teams: Thailand, ranked 53rd in the world; the Democratic Republic of the Congo, ranked 109th; Nepal, ranked 89th; and one team from Oceania yet to be confirmed.
Each team will play two matches. The opening fixtures will pair the four teams, with the winners advancing to face each other and the losing sides meeting in the second round.
The first matches are scheduled for 12 April 2026 at 16:00 and 20:00, with the second matches to be played on 15 April 2026 at 16:00 and 20:00. All matches will be held at Ratchaburi Stadium in Ratchaburi province.
