KANCHANABURI — 29 August 2026, A video showing what appears to be an astronaut walking along a badly damaged stretch of Route 323 between Sangkhlaburi and Thong Pha Phum has gone viral on social media, drawing renewed calls for authorities to repair the road.
At around 13:00, social media users shared and commented on footage posted on Facebook by Apirak Vanaruji, showing an astronaut apparently inspecting Route 323 in the area of Noen Chang Rong and Noen Yao Curve in Nong Lu subdistrict, Sangkhlaburi district, Kanchanaburi.
The footage uses the astronaut imagery to highlight the severely deteriorated condition of the road, which runs along a steep hillside. The road surface is riddled with potholes, while asphalt has peeled away in several sections.
Vehicles can also be seen struggling to travel along the damaged stretch, raising concerns over road safety for motorists using the route.
The post prompted a large number of comments, with social media users calling on the relevant authorities to urgently inspect, repair and improve the road.
