NAGOYA — 27 September 2026, Thailand’s Kunathip Yia-on won a bronze medal in the men’s over-90kg kurash event at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya on Sunday, earning the same medal in the event for the second consecutive Games.
Kunathip competed in the men’s over-90kg division on 27 September.
He defeated an opponent from South Korea in the round of 16 before overcoming an Indian competitor in the quarterfinals to reach the semifinals.
In the semifinal, Kunathip faced Sarkarmohammad Miehmamadov of Tajikistan.
Despite giving his all, the Thai athlete lost 0-10, ending his run with a bronze medal.
The result means Kunathip has won bronze in the men’s over-90kg division at two consecutive Asian Games, following his bronze at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
