NAGOYA — 27 September 2026, Thailand’s men’s team regu secured a place in the semifinals of the 2026 Asian Games after beating the Philippines and Japan to finish top of Group A on Saturday.
Following disappointment in the men’s team event, where Thailand lost to Malaysia in the final, the Thai sepak takraw squad returned to action in the men’s team regu competition on 27 September.
Thailand played two group matches on the same day.
In their opening match, Thailand defeated the Philippines 15-11, 15-7.
The Thai team then faced Japan in their second match and edged past their opponents 2-1, winning 15-9, 16-17, 15-9.
With two wins from two matches, Thailand finished as Group A winners and advanced to the semifinals.
Thailand will face the second-placed team from Group B, which features Malaysia, Vietnam and Myanmar, in the semifinal on 28 September.
