NAGOYA — Thailand’s top-ranked men’s tennis player, Kasidit Samrej, was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the men’s singles competition at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, on 1 October.
Kasidit, ranked No. 382 in the world and seeded No. 12, faced Hong Kong’s Coleman Wong, the tournament’s top seed and world No. 108, in the quarterfinal at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
The Thai player fought hard but was defeated 0-2, losing 3-6, 0-6.
The result ended Kasidit’s run in the tournament and ruled him out of contention for an Asian Games medal.
Wong advanced to the semifinals, where he will face the winner of the match between Uzbekistan’s Khumoyun Sultanov, ranked No. 437 and seeded No. 14, and Taiwan’s Teng Chun-hsin, ranked No. 212 and seeded No. 6.
