Five Killed as Indian Air Force Transport Plane Crashes

NEW DELHI — Five military personnel were killed after an Indian Air Force Antonov An-32 transport aircraft crashed while attempting to land at an air base in Jorhat, Assam state, in northeastern India, officials said on 14 June 2026.

According to a report by The Straits Times, the aircraft went down during a routine mission on 13 June.

Authorities have not disclosed how many people were on board the aircraft or whether there were additional survivors. However, an Indian Air Force official told local media that a co-pilot survived the crash.

In a statement, the Indian Air Force said the An-32 was carrying out a normal operational flight when the accident occurred during landing.

“The Indian Air Force deeply regrets the loss of five personnel,” the statement said.

The air force added that a board of inquiry is being established to determine the cause of the crash.
