Six Thai workers were injured when an old munition exploded in an agricultural field in Metula, northern Israel, on Monday morning, Israeli media reported.
Two workers were seriously injured and another was moderately injured, according to the Times of Israel. All six were taken to Ziv Medical Center in Safed for treatment.
The hospital said the two seriously injured workers and the moderately injured worker received initial treatment in its trauma room. The remaining three were being treated in the emergency department.
Prof Aviram Nissan, director of Ziv Medical Center’s surgical department, said one seriously injured worker was undergoing treatment in the operating room, while the other was receiving imaging tests to assess his condition and determine further treatment.
Israeli police said they were investigating the incident.
