BANGKOK — 26 September 2026, Bangkok’s Red Line commuter rail temporarily suspended services on both routes on Saturday after an electrical fault affected the signalling system, forcing all 13 stations to close.
At 16:00, the RED Line SRTET Facebook page announced that services on both the Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal–Rangsit and Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal–Taling Chan routes had been temporarily suspended.
“Please be informed that both Red Line commuter rail routes, Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal–Rangsit and Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal–Taling Chan, have temporarily suspended services due to an issue requiring safety inspections,” the operator said.
SRT Electrified Train Co. (SRTET) later issued a statement explaining that engineers and relevant specialists had been dispatched to investigate the disruption, which began at around 16:00 on Saturday.
The company said an electrical system fault had affected the signalling system, requiring the temporary closure of all 13 stations while repairs are carried out.
Officials are conducting detailed safety checks on the railway’s operating systems before services can resume as normal.
SRTET apologised for the disruption and said passengers can follow updates through the RED Line SRTET Facebook page or contact the 1690 customer service hotline, available 24 hours a day.
