BANGKOK – Belarusian national carrier Belavia Airlines launched its first scheduled flights between Minsk and Bangkok on 25 October, adding a direct air link between the Eastern European country and Thailand ahead of the year-end tourism season.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) welcomed the inaugural flight, B2 799, at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 17:05 on Sunday.
The service operates once a week using an Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 281 seats, providing another travel option for visitors from Belarus, which TAT identifies as a potential source market in Eastern Europe.
Suladda Sarutilavan, TAT’s executive director for the Europe region, said the new route supports the agency’s Airline Focus strategy to expand air connectivity and seat capacity from long-haul markets.
She said the service would offer more convenient access to Thailand during the high season, while helping attract more visitors, encourage longer stays and distribute tourism spending to destinations across the country.
Belavia is Belarus’ national airline and the country’s largest carrier. The new scheduled route began operations on 25 October 2026.
