Thai King, Queen welcomed in Vietnam on historic state visit

HANOI, Vietnam — The King and Queen of Thailand attended an official welcome ceremony and met with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of Vietnam, and his wife at the National Assembly Building on 15 September.

The King and Queen are making an official visit to Vietnam from 14 to 16 September at the invitation of To Lam.

The visit coincides with celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Vietnam.

The visit is aimed at further strengthening relations and close ties between the two neighbouring countries.
