BANGKOK – Their Majesties the King and Queen received Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and his wife, Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam, at Dusit Palace on Monday during his visit to Thailand for the 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings.
The royal audience took place at 17:33 at Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall, Dusit Palace, on 12 October.

Tharman is visiting Thailand to attend the World Bank Group’s High-Level Advisory Council on Jobs Meeting, held as part of the event hosted by Thailand from 12-18 October.
Thailand and Singapore maintain close relations at both government and people-to-people levels. In 2025, the two countries marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Bilateral cooperation is guided by the Thailand-Singapore Forward-Looking Strategic Partnership, which sets out four priority areas: sustainable green partnerships, a connected and resilient economy, enhanced defence and security capabilities, and closer strategic coordination on regional issues.
