PATTAYA — Municipal officers in Pattaya detained a foreign tourist after he allegedly smashed an official vehicle while in a drunken state.
At about 01:20 on 21 January 2026, Pattaya municipal officers took the unidentified foreign man into custody and handed him over to investigators at Pattaya City Police Station. The suspect was reportedly heavily intoxicated when he damaged an officers’ car during a routine patrol along Soi 6, Pattaya Beach.
Udon Woratham, a Pattaya municipal officer, said the incident occurred as officers were driving through the middle of Soi 6. The foreign man suddenly became aggressive and approached the patrol vehicle, striking it without any apparent provocation. Officers exited the vehicle, restrained him and brought him to police.
Police initially attempted to question the suspect but were unable to communicate with him as he was severely intoxicated and incoherent. He was placed in a holding cell to sober up before further questioning and legal proceedings.
