CCTV shows German tourist stealing cash at Phuket spa

PHUKET — Closed-circuit television footage showing a German tourist allegedly stealing cash from a spa in central Phuket has been widely shared online.

On 20 January 2026, the Facebook page “โหดจัง จังหวัดภูเก็ต” posted a CCTV clip recorded inside Thanya Spa and Massage on Ranong Road in Talat Nuea subdistrict, Mueang Phuket district. The footage shows a foreign male tourist entering the spa while no staff were stationed at the front counter.

In the video, the man is seen sitting and waiting for a short time before standing up, walking to the cashier’s counter and pulling open the cash drawer. He then takes cash from inside. A staff member later approaches him. The incident occurred at about 17:00.

Reporters later learned that Thanabat Pha Saeng, 32, acting on behalf of Piyawong Serisetiap, 35, an authorised director of Thanya Spa and Massage Co Ltd, filed a police complaint with investigators at Mueang Phuket Police Station. The business is located at 15 Ranong Road, Talat Nuea, Mueang Phuket district.

Thanabat said that at about 17:06 on the same day, the spa reviewed its CCTV footage and identified the suspect as a German tourist named Mr. Loszlo, whose details appeared on the service registration form. He is accused of stealing 2,000 baht in cash from the spa’s drawer while the cashier was away from the counter.

The incident came to light after staff found that the day’s cash takings did not match the system records, causing financial loss. The spa has reported the case to police so the suspect can be traced and prosecuted under the law.
