BANGKOK — 23 October 2026, Police arrested an Israeli man and a Thai woman at a condominium in Bangkok’s Huai Khwang district on Thursday, seizing crystal methamphetamine, suspected drug-laced cake and a mobile phone that officers said contained alleged drug-sale records and secretly recorded sexual videos.

The 54-year-old Israeli man, identified only as Tomer, was charged with jointly possessing a Category 1 narcotic, or methamphetamine; overstaying his visa by 2,095 days; refusing a narcotics test; and disobeying an officer’s order. Police said they seized 15 grams of crystal meth, 50 small plastic bags, a scale, a tray of cake suspected of containing drugs, and a mobile phone.

The arrest followed a tip to the Office of the Narcotics Control Board’s 1386 hotline alleging that an Israeli man with an eagle tattoo on his left upper arm used dating applications to contact women and invite them to his condominium.

According to the tip, the man allegedly offered women food suspected of containing drugs before secretly recording them during sex. Police are investigating the allegation and whether the food contained narcotics and if recordings were used for blackmail.

Police said immigration records showed that Tomer had overstayed his permission to remain in Thailand by 2,095 days. Investigators alleged that, although he appeared not to have regular work, he had money for daily expenses and received frequent female visitors at the condominium.

Tomer denied that the crystal meth belonged to him, police said. Officers alleged that his phone contained evidence of drug purchases for resale and several secretly recorded sexual videos filmed inside the room.

Police also said he claimed influential people would secure his release within two hours, demanded the names of the arresting officers and threatened to have them transferred or dismissed. He was also accused of threatening to kill a police inspector.

Both suspects were handed to Huai Khwang police for legal proceedings.
