BANGKOK — 5 September 2026, A British-Nigerian influencer died after undergoing a penis enlargement filler procedure at a clinic in Thailand, with a UK inquest finding that the injected substances contributed to a fatal pulmonary embolism.
According to evidence presented at the West London Coroner’s Court, Ubiribo received an injection of 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine into his penis at a clinic in Thailand on 5 March.
The couple were staying at a luxury hotel in Bangkok and later went for a massage after the procedure. Ubiribo then began complaining of chest pain and reportedly lost consciousness twice before being taken to a hospital in the Sukhumvit area.
He was initially conscious on arrival and was able to tell doctors that he had undergone a penis enlargement injection. However, he later lost consciousness before doctors could carry out a CT scan.
Doctors diagnosed him with a pulmonary embolism and transferred him to intensive care. Medical staff performed CPR for more than 100 minutes, but Ubiribo died in the early hours of 6 March.
A UK post-mortem examination concluded that the hyaluronic acid and lidocaine used in the enlargement procedure contributed to the embolism that caused his death.
Ubiribo was known online for posting about a luxury lifestyle and had around 185,000 followers on Instagram. According to the report, he owned a US$1.1 million home in Los Angeles and a US$600,000 apartment in London.
He was later buried in London in a gold coffin reportedly worth US$745,000.
Hyaluronic acid filler procedures for penile enlargement can reportedly cost up to US$9,000, with the effects generally lasting around six to nine months.
