Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul for his message marking Ukraine’s Independence Day, saying the two countries have more to explore and achieve together.
Anutin sent a congratulatory message to Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day, reaffirming Thailand’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation.
“Thailand highly values the longstanding friendship and cordial relations between our two countries,” Anutin wrote.
The Thai prime minister also said he looked forward to working with Zelenskyy to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries and their people.
Anutin noted that 2026 marks the 34th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Ukraine and reaffirmed Thailand’s respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter and the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.

Zelenskyy shared the letter on X, thanking Anutin for his “warm wishes” to the Ukrainian people on the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Ukraine’s independence.
“Ukraine and Thailand have much more to explore and achieve together,” Zelenskyy wrote.
He said he was pleased that the two countries share an ambition to unlock the full potential of their relationship and create new opportunities for their people.
