BANGKOK — 26 August 2026, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said authorities would identify whoever leaked Department of Special Investigation case files linked to alleged collusion in the Senate election, saying the leak was clearly not intended to benefit the government.
Speaking at Parliament at 10:00, Anutin was asked about Justice Minister Pol Lt Gen Rutthaphon Naowarat’s confirmation that documents from the DSI investigation had been leaked.
He said laws already set out penalties for removing official documents, and that it was for the responsible agencies to proceed under the law.
Asked whether a former minister could have been behind the leak, Anutin said he did not know. The Justice Ministry and relevant agencies had already filed a police complaint, he added, saying this was necessary so they could not themselves be accused of allowing the documents to be leaked.
“Once a complaint has been filed, everyone will have an opportunity to explain how the documents were leaked,” he said.
“It should not have happened. These are official documents. Whoever took them out should not be difficult to find. We will pursue the case fully,” Anutin said.
Asked whether the leak was intended to damage the government, he replied: “It certainly was not done with good intentions. There is no need to ask.”
