BANGKOK — Metropolitan Police Division 2 officers raided a condominium in Ladprao Soi 18 on Thursday, arresting one Chinese and three Vietnamese nationals allegedly operating an illegal online gambling website.
Authorities seized eight computers, six mobile phones, and several Ledger Nano X cryptocurrency hardware wallets containing USDT digital currency.
The raid on March 13 was conducted following a tip that foreign nationals were using the rented condominium as headquarters for an illegal gambling operation targeting Chinese speakers.
According to Police Major General Jessada Suaysom, the suspects confessed they had been in Thailand for about two months and were paid 50,000 baht ($1,480) monthly to administer the gambling websites.

“We found evidence of gambling website operations on their computers, with content in Chinese encouraging users to place bets,” said Police Colonel Pornthep Chalermkiat, Superintendent of Sutthisan Police Station.
All four suspects have been charged with organizing illegal gambling through electronic media. They also face additional fines for immigration violations after failing to report their change of residence within the legally required 24-hour timeframe.
The seized electronic equipment has been forwarded to the Technology Crime Suppression Division for further investigation to identify other individuals connected to the gambling network.
