PATTAYA — Immigration police have arrested another Nordic tourist in a major fraud case, this time a Swedish national who was wanted by Stockholm courts and European authorities on serious fraud charges. The suspect was apprehended at a condominium in Pattaya.
Police Lieutenant General Chairit Anurit, Commander of Immigration Bureau 3, ordered the investigation team to arrest Mr. Ludde, 39, a Swedish national who was subject to a red notice warrant for transnational fraud. He was captured at a condominium in Pattaya District, Chonburi Province.
According to information received by Thai police, Ludde committed serious fraud in 11 cases, using forged documents and impersonating representatives of various companies. He used fake driver’s licenses to trick businesses into delivering goods and services without payment between September 13, 2021, and April 11, 2025. The total damages amounted to 1,157,183 Swedish kronor (approximately $106,000 USD).
Additionally, he attempted to commit fraud in two more cases, representing attempted damages of 304,631 Swedish kronor (approximately $28,000 USD).
Two arrest warrants were issued against him: a Stockholm District Court warrant dated June 2, 2025, and a European Arrest Warrant dated June 4, 2025.
The suspect caused damages to 11 European businesses by posing as a businessman to fraudulently obtain goods and services. The Immigration Bureau 3 investigation team tracked him down and arrested him at the condominium he was using as residence. He has been detained for legal proceedings, and authorities will coordinate with Swedish officials for further action.
Lieutenant General Chairit revealed that this operation follows orders from the National Police Chief, emphasizing the government’s urgent policy to crack down on transnational criminals. This effort aims to prevent and suppress foreign nationals who infiltrate the country to commit crimes, posing threats to public peace and Thailand’s national security.
One day earlier, Immigration Division 3 officers have arrested a 33-year-old Finnish criminal wanted on an INTERPOL Red Notice for serious crimes including murder and drug cases in Norway.
