Johnnie Walker, the world’s number one Scotch whisky (IWSR 2018) celebrates its long 200-year history with prestigious accolades, namely three Double Gold Award, six Silver Award and one Bronze Award, from The San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2020, one of the industry’s most recognized spirit awards among merchants and consumers all over the world.
In the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2020, selection process was carried out with utmost care and diligence with blind tasting in the first round of selection where the judges had no information of the participating brands to ensure absolute unbiased consideration.
In the final round, the judges evaluated each brand independently based on its own merit without comparing to other brands in the same category. The highest accolade is the Double Gold Award, which was awarded to a brand that received Gold Award from every judge unanimously.
This year, Johnnie Walker celebrates 200 years in the market with three Double Gold Award for the following:
- Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Glenury Royal
- Johnnie Walker Double Black Blended Scotch
- Johnnie Walker Black Label Aged 12 Years Blended Scotch
Six Silver Award as follow:
- Aged 18 Years Blended Scotch
- Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve Blended Scotch
- Johnnie Walker Red Label Blended Scotch
- Johnnie Walker A Song of Ice
- Johnnie Walker A Song of Fire
- Johnnie Walker Jane Walker LR Blended Scotch
Johnnie Walker also received one Bronze Award for Johnnie Walker Blue Label Blended Scotch.
Previously in 2019, Johnnie Walker won three Double Gold Award for Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection, Aged 18 Years Blended Scotch and Double Black Blended Scotch.
Besides accolades from The San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Johnnie Walker was recently awarded seven accolades from the reputable International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC), i.e. five Gold Medal and two Silver Medal, that further strengthened its position as the world’s best-selling Scotch whisky brand among consumers across 180 countries all over the world.
