The Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) has signed an agreement for exclusive benefits under the “SME Privilege Club: Special Club for SME” initiative to enhance productivity and reduce costs. OSMEP has also launched the UPSKILL SME program, “Nation-Wide Sales Up with Solutions from LINE.”
Panita Shinawatra, Acting Director General of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), announced that the exclusive benefits for publicly registered SMEs—introduced in 2019 under the SME Privilege Club initiative—support SMEs in three primary areas. Firstly, Enhanced Production and Cost Efficiency offers discounts on transportation, services, and material analysis to improve production processes and reduce costs. Secondly, Sales Platform Expansion provides opportunities to boost sales through shared platforms with leading modern trades. Exclusive benefits include reduced GP and entry fees, as well as favorable credit terms. Thirdly, Investment Connection prioritizes financial support with privileges from financial institutions, including liquidity-enhancing loans and financial consultancy.
The Acting Director General further emphasized that approximately 80% of SMEs are now utilizing digital technologies for online sales. Basic uses include setting up shop pages, uploading product images, promoting services or sales, and engaging in activities on platforms such as ads, live streaming, and online platform groups. SMEs are also employing advanced marketing techniques like Search Engine Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, and Pay-Per-Click advertising, demonstrating their adaptability to current market trends and movement towards digital and green business models.
Recognizing the critical need for SMEs to increase their digital capabilities in line with global trends, OSMEP has partnered with LINE Company (Thailand) Ltd. This collaboration aims to support SMEs in their shift towards digital and green business practices. Together, they co-organized the UPSKILL SME program, “Nation-Wide Sales Up with Solutions from LINE,” to help SMEs make practical use of the exclusive benefits available. The first workshop was held on June 21st, 2024 at the Grand Palasso Pattaya Hotel in Chonburi, followed by the second workshop on July 18, 2024, at Khon Kaen International Convention and Exhibition Center (KICE) in Khon Kaen, and the third on August 23, 2024, at Chiang Mai Grand View Hotel and Convention Centre in Chiang Mai. More than 700 SME entrepreneurs participated in these events.
“In addition to the UPSKILL SME workshops, we will continue to provide benefits through LINE Company (Thailand) until 2025. These include online marketing learning materials via chat commerce, supported by LINE’s solutions through LINE for Business, and additional perks through the LINE Family Club for registered LINE for Business users. Entrepreneurs will also receive a monthly package of 100 exclusive benefits, including 2,000 baht in advertisement credits for first-time LINE Ads users, once they have spent 2,000 baht on promotional costs. This offer lasts for 12 months. Entrepreneurs and the general public interested in these benefits can register with OSMEP through SME CONNEXT, verified by SME ONE ID, free of charge. They will receive the latest updates and access to benefits related to production efficiency, cost reduction, sales platform expansion, investment connections, and activities under OSMEP’s partner initiatives,” stated the Acting Director General.
