DE Warns of Fake “Moving Forward For The Future” Facebook Page
DE warns the public about the fake “Moving Forward For The Future” Facebook page impersonating the Ministry and claiming to help victims recover money lost to scammers, urging people to beware of financial losses and theft of personal information.
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE), through the Anti-Fake News Center Thailand (AFNC), has released the latest results of its fake news monitoring and reporting efforts. The initiative is in line with the policy of Mr.Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, to strengthen public awareness of technology-related crimes, fake news, and misinformation.
On 12 August 2026, AFNC monitored a total of 110,943 messages and identified 6,190 messages requiring verification. The largest number of reports came from Social Listening channels, accounting for 6,189 messages, followed by one report received through LINE Official. A total of 15 issues were investigated, with verification results received from relevant agencies for four cases.

Among the seven stories that attracted the greatest public attention, two were confirmed as true and five were identified as fake news. These included:
Fake News: Attacks by the Thai side caused damage to ancient sites and homes, as well as civilian casualties in Cambodia.
Fake News: The Government Savings Bank (GSB) invited the public to invest in digital assets through the TDX application.
True News: The Department of Provincial Administration ordered enhanced security measures nationwide, including checkpoints to intercept firearms and illegal drugs.
Fake News: Chlorine in tap water turns into a carcinogenic substance when the water is boiled.
Fake News: The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) launched a new LINE account, 11293675.
Fake News: The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society allows scam victims to recover their money through the “Moving Forward For The Future” Facebook page.
True News: The Government is preparing nationwide school safety standards to be completed within 90 days.
One of the most notable fake stories claimed that the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society had opened the “Moving Forward For The Future” Facebook page to help victims recover money lost to scammers. The Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society confirmed that the page is fake and was created by scammers who unlawfully used the Ministry’s official emblem to deceive people into seeking refunds through the page.
The DE Ministry has no policy allowing the public to request or recover money through any Facebook page or social media platform. People who encounter pages claiming to provide such services on behalf of the Ministry are urged not to trust them or provide any personal information, in order to avoid falling victim to scammers.
The process of recovering money for scam victims must be carried out through the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO). Once AMLO publishes details of bank accounts, e-money accounts, or digital asset wallets linked to technology crimes in the Royal Gazette, victims must submit refund applications together with evidence of their losses to AMLO within 90 days from the date of publication through channels designated by AMLO.
In cases where victims can be clearly identified, AMLO will also notify them directly. After reviewing the applications, AMLO will submit the cases to the Transaction Committee under the Anti-Money Laundering Law for an order to return the funds to victims.
If a victim or related party disagrees with the Transaction Committee’s decision, an objection may be filed with the Civil Court within 30 days. If they remain dissatisfied with the Civil Court’s ruling, they may appeal to the Court of Appeal, whose judgment will be final.
AMLO also emphasized the following guidelines for victims:
If you become a victim, collect all relevant evidence and immediately file a complaint with the police or through the official online police reporting system.
AMLO does not charge any fees or service charges for the refund process. Victims should never transfer money to anyone claiming to provide such assistance.
Once the relevant notice is published in the Royal Gazette, victims must submit their applications only through channels designated by AMLO. AMLO does not accept applications or registrations through social media platforms such as Facebook, LINE, or TikTok.
Applications may be submitted through three official channels: in person at AMLO or another location designated by authorized officials; by registered mail; or through electronic channels designated by AMLO and specified in the relevant announcement.
Victims can follow official updates, lists of accounts linked to offenders, and the progress of refund procedures only through AMLO’s official website.
The DE Ministry remains concerned about the spread of fake news and misinformation across online and social media platforms. Sharing unverified information may lead to misunderstanding, financial losses, misuse of personal information, and broader impacts on society.
The public is encouraged to trust and share information only from official sources and to carefully verify facts and website links before believing or forwarding any information.
People who encounter suspicious information or possible fake news can report it or verify information through the Anti-Fake News Center Thailand via Hotline 1111 ext. 87, available 24 hours a day.
