The Ministry of Defence, AIS and the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization), or DGA, have joined forces to enhance the capabilities of armed forces personnel and their families, preparing them for the rapid transformation brought about by artificial intelligence (AI). Through the Cyber Resilience and Artificial Intelligence Capability Development Program for Armed Forces Personnel and Their Families, the collaboration aims to strengthen Digital Literacy and AI Literacy, laying a tangible foundation for developing a “digital-ready force” and advancing Thailand’s Digital Defense capabilities.
Armed forces personnel and government officers will be able to learn through DGA’s platform, which integrates the AIS Aunjai Cyber: AI Literacy curriculum with the government workforce development framework. Meanwhile, their families and members of the public can access the curriculum through AIS Aunjai Cyber. The initiative will also be expanded through roadshows at military units across Thailand’s four regions, covering the Royal Thai Army, Royal Thai Navy and Royal Thai Air Force. The goal is to enable armed forces personnel to use AI effectively, stay alert to cyber threats and apply technology to their duties efficiently, while sustainably strengthening Thailand’s AI readiness.
Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defence, said: “The world is rapidly entering the AI era. Technology is playing an increasingly important role in operations, data management, decision-making and the national security of every country. The Ministry of Defence is therefore advancing its Digital Defense policy, with a focus on preparing armed forces personnel through physical readiness, knowledge, professional skills and the ability to harness technology effectively.
“We are also strengthening capabilities in data management, situational analysis and strategic decision-making to drive the Ministry’s tangible transformation into a Data-Driven Organization and an AI-Driven Organization.”
In today’s security environment, artificial intelligence is no longer merely a tool for enhancing operational efficiency. It is increasingly influencing data management, situational analysis and decision-making processes. At the same time, technological transformation brings new risks and emerging forms of threats. Developing armed forces personnel who can use technology effectively and remain alert to cyber threats is therefore critical to strengthening the future readiness of the armed forces.
“The Ministry of Defence places great importance on the quality of life and future of armed forces personnel through the ‘Four Opportunities’ framework, alongside comprehensive AI workforce development covering users, advisers, executives responsible for driving AI adoption and system developers.
“Our objective is not simply to ensure that armed forces personnel are familiar with AI, but to empower them to use AI effectively, recognize cyber threats and apply the technology in practical ways. What we seek to build is more than technological capability; it is an ‘intellectual arsenal’ that enables personnel to improve mission performance through technology and prepare for emerging changes and new forms of threats.
“This approach will support the development of a ‘digital-ready force’, which will play an essential role in enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces and strengthening Thailand’s national security.”

Armed forces personnel can access these courses anytime and anywhere through the Digital Government Learning Platform at tdga.dga.or.th and receive an online certificate upon successful completion.
