Thai woman attacks Scottish boyfriend

CHONBURI — 27 August 2026, A 49-year-old Thai woman attacked her 41-year-old Scottish boyfriend with a glass and a soda bottle after he allegedly admitted in front of her that he loved a woman working at a bar, police said.

At 00:16, Pattaya City Police Station received a report of a fight at a restaurant in Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province. Police and rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya went to the scene.

Inside the restaurant, officers found the Scottish man sitting at a table with heavy bleeding and a large wound to his head. Rescuers provided first aid before urgently taking him to a hospital.

The restaurant was also damaged, with broken glass scattered across the floor.

Police identified the Thai woman involved as Ms Prang, a pseudonym, 49. She was reportedly still angry and shouting when officers arrived.

Prang told police that the injured man was her boyfriend and that they had been in a relationship for about four years.

She said she recently discovered that he had secretly been talking to a woman who worked at a bar and confronted him to find out the truth.

During the conversation, however, the boyfriend allegedly told her in front of her, “I love her.”

Prang said the remark made her lose control of her temper. She then grabbed a glass and a soda bottle and repeatedly struck her boyfriend, leaving him with a serious head wound and blood covering his face.

Police are investigating the incident and will proceed according to law.
