Powerful Winds Drive Dark Clouds Over Bangkok

Storm clouds sliced across the sky over Bangkok just before 5pm today.

BANGKOK — The Thai capital is in for a stormy evening as powerful winds swept in from the southwest just before 5pm.

A dramatic storm front sent dark clouds led by strong gusts streaming over Bangkok, with rainfall expected over 60 percent of metropolitan Bangkok with winds of up to 30kph, according to the meteorological service.

Heavier rain is expected to cover the capital Wednesday, only to fall off for a mostly dry Thursday.
