CHONBURI — Highgate International School Thailand, the first overseas campus of the UK’s Highgate School, officially opened on 7 October, with its first phase of classes having begun in August.
Located on a 70-rai campus near Siam Country Club in Chonburi, the school was established through a partnership between Siam Motors Group and Highgate School, a British educational institution with a history spanning more than 460 years.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Palakorn Suwanrath, Privy Councillor and president of the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under Royal Patronage. School executives, teachers, parents and guests also attended.

The school initially welcomes children aged two to 11 through its Pre-Prep and Junior Schools, with plans to open a Senior School in 2027.
Tanyaporn Phornprapha Tangcravakoon, chair of the school board, said the school was established to provide an environment where children could develop their individuality, explore new interests and grow with confidence.
Ben Keeling, head of school, said Highgate School in London would remain closely involved in the direction and governance of its Thai campus.
The school’s educational approach, under the concept “Learning Beyond Boundaries”, emphasises intellectual curiosity, academic rigour, participation, social responsibility and community engagement.

Its facilities include modern classrooms, a library and research spaces, art and music studios, a FIFA-standard football pitch, an Olympic-size swimming pool and outdoor areas designed to connect children with nature.
