CANDON CITY, Philippines — Cambodia stunned Thailand to reach the SEA V Cup 2026 men’s volleyball final for the first time after defeating the higher-ranked Thais 3-1 in the semi-finals on 18 July 2026.
The first leg of the ASEAN volleyball tournament is being held at Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur, Philippines.
Thailand, ranked 67th in the world and winners of Group B, faced Cambodia, ranked 125th and runners-up of Group A.
Thailand, coached by Park Ki-won, started with Phadet Phinitdee, Chaiwat Thungkham, Anuchit Phakdikaew, Thanathat Thaweerat, Anurak Phanram, Boonyarit Wongthorn, with Nattaphong Chachamnan as libero.
Thailand fought hard but were undone by a series of unforced errors, while Cambodia impressed with solid defence throughout the match.
Cambodia claimed victory 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-18, securing a historic place in the tournament final.
Thailand will now compete in the third-place playoff.
