CHONBURI — 15 Sep 2026 — A 45-year-old British man was attacked by two men riding a motorcycle who allegedly tried to rob him of his mobile phone in Pattaya early Monday, leaving him with an injury to his left temple and ear.
Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation and police from Pattaya City Police Station were alerted to the assault at 01:36 at the entrance to Soi Jomtien 15 in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province.
The injured man was identified as Kumar, 45, a British national. He was found with bruises on his body and what appeared to be a cut from a sharp object stretching from his left temple to his ear.
Rescue workers provided first aid before taking him to a nearby hospital.
Duetdao Theewadwad, 20, a convenience store employee, told police that Kumar had entered the shop seeking help after the attack.
According to her account, Kumar said two Thai men who appeared to be drunk had ridden alongside him on a motorcycle before attacking him.
One of the men allegedly threatened him with a sharp weapon and attempted to rob him. The attackers then assaulted him and tried to pull his mobile phone away.
Kumar resisted and the pair failed to take the phone before fleeing the scene on their motorcycle.
Police asked Kumar to file a formal complaint and assigned investigators to examine CCTV footage from the scene and surrounding routes.
Police are continuing to gather evidence and track down the suspects for legal action.
