Woman Found Guilty of Lese Majeste For Stepping on King Image

Thai Criminal Court found Thitinan K. guilty of lese majeste and sentenced her to one year in jail, but suspended the jail term for three years because the defendant suffered from mental illness. 
 
The court also required the defendant to report herself to the court every six months. 
 
Thitinan, 64, was accused of stepping on the King image while several groups of protesters were gathering in front of the Constitutional Court office in July 2012.
