BANGKOK — Indie English rockers, an Australian indietronica group and a Taiwanese math rock trio are among the first acts due to take the stage at a new outdoor music festival later this year.
The organizers of the Maho Rasop Festival on Thursday revealed a list of 12 alternative music acts to perform live outdoor in November at the capital’s Phra Ram IX area.

The marquee talent among the international acts will be London quartet The Vaccines, who have opened for The Rolling Stones, Muse and Arctic Monkeys.
Also on stage will be upbeat Melbournian electronic group Miami Horror, soul-infused pop outfit PREP and Elephant Gym, a three-piece math rock group from Taiwan.
Local bands are tropic-inspired indie pop Gym and Swim and up-and-coming pop quintet Temp.
The next phase of lineups will be announced at a later date.
Maho Rasop means “entertainment” in Thai. The one-day festival is organized by gig promoters Have You Heard, Seen Scene Space and music streaming service Fungjai. It was first announced early July with 200 blind tickets sold out.
Tickets sold online are 2,990 baht and 2,490 baht for students. The fest runs noon to midnight on Nov. 17 at Live Park Rama 9. The venue is located on Rama IX Road, about 4 kilometers from MRT Phra Ram 9.
