BANGKOK — 13 August 2026, actress and influencer Chatchaya “Neen” Samrerngrat filed a police complaint against her stalker, a 35-year-old former police officer, accusing him of sexual harassment and trespassing over a period of five years.
Neen was accompanied by Sirikwan Nilakorn, a lawyer from the Thammasat Organisation for Good Foundation, who was assigned by Panadda “Boom” Wongphudee, the foundation’s chairwoman. They met Pol Sgt Maj Wiroj Suchart, an inquiry officer at Bueng Kum Police Station, to seek legal action against the former officer, identified as Chatchawal, whose surname was withheld.
She said the man initially contacted her through social media, claiming to be a fan, but his messages gradually became sexually suggestive and harassing.
He later began visiting her home and allegedly opened the door and entered without permission. On several occasions, he encountered her family members, including her father and brother, and asked for her, despite the pair never having met privately.
Neen also alleged that the man followed her to her yoghurt shop, which she runs as a private business. The repeated incidents left her frightened and unable to live her daily life normally, eventually causing panic attacks.
She said she had already approached police and made three records of the incidents. On 15 January 2026, she filed a complaint over trespassing. Most recently, on 11 August, the man allegedly entered her home at night, with CCTV footage clearly capturing the incident.
“This time, I want to pursue the case to the fullest extent of the law,” Neen said.
She said she had previously provided security guards at her housing estate with the man’s photograph and instructed them not to allow him onto the premises. However, she alleged that he repeatedly disguised himself to evade security, including posing as a delivery rider, hiring vehicles through ride-hailing applications, or driving his own car while claiming he was not visiting her house.
Sirikwan said a search of the suspect’s Facebook account indicated that he had previously served as a police officer, although the reason he left the force was unknown.
She said cases involving this type of behaviour had previously lacked specific legal protection, but a recently introduced law addressing sexual harassment now covers conduct of this nature.
The lawyer said she had therefore rushed to accompany Neen in filing the complaint, hoping the case would serve as an example and raise public awareness.
Neen has appeared in several television dramas and series, including Lai Kinaree, Sat Suea, Pritsana Pom Mai and Duangta Sawan, generally playing supporting roles.
Panadda said by phone that if the alleged harasser was suffering from a mental health condition, his family should seek medical treatment for him rather than allowing him to disturb others.
“I volunteered to help move the legal proceedings forward rather than having Neen simply file a complaint and leave it there,” Panadda said.
She added that Neen now felt more reassured and that her brother would meet with Panadda and her legal team to discuss the case further.
“If a case comes into my hands, I will pursue it to the fullest extent. As I said, if we have changed the law in this area, we must make sure that it is enforced,” Panadda said.
Pol Sgt Maj Wiroj said police had received the complaint and would collect evidence before submitting the case to senior officers for further legal proceedings.
