BANGKOK — Photographers from a scene dedicated to capturing Thailand from the street level will bring their perspectives into the gallery at an exhibition starting tonight.

Eighteen photographers, including award-winning Tavepong Pratoomwong and Bangkok-based Rammy Narula, will pair off to show work at The Duet,  which opens at 8pm at Bangkok’s Goja Cafe and Gallery.

“[Street Photo Thailand] wants to create a space where the members can show their artworks,” said Tavepong, who along with the other artists is part of the Street Photo Thailand community. “We came up with the concept ‘Duet,’ in which the active members of Street Photo Thailand pick the pictures from the others that somehow connect to theirs.”

Earlier this year, Tavepong won the Street Shooting Around the World contest by the Los Angeles Center of Photography.

Friday night’s opening reception will receive sonic reinforcement from DJs Gishiyama, Target-C, Dan aka Chalk and Fredrik Funk.

Goja Cafe and Gallery is located just behind the W District, just off Soi Sukhumvit 71 on Soi Pridi Banomyong 3, about a five-minute walk from BTS Phra Khanong. Goja is open 3pm to midnight every day except Tuesday.
