BANGKOK — 28 August 2026, Police detained eight students after rival groups from two well-known educational institutions got into a violent brawl on a skywalk in Bangkok’s Pathum Wan district, leaving four people injured.
At 07:50, Pathum Wan police received a report that groups of teenagers were fighting and assaulting one another on the skywalk in Pathum Wan district.
Police officers, including investigators and patrol officers from Pathum Wan Police Station, were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found a group of students involved in a violent physical altercation. The incident caused panic among passersby, who feared they could be hurt.
Police intervened and detained all eight people involved. Four people sustained injuries from the assault. Emergency medical personnel and volunteers from a rescue foundation were called to provide first aid to the injured.
The students from the two institutions were taken to the police station for further questioning. Police said legal action would be taken against those involved.
