All BMA organizations are ready for the “Open Bangkok” to transparently and efficiently drive the City of Bangkok 

Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, revealed that he had signed the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Order dated July 7, 2022 on the Disclosure of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Data through Digital Access.  With this Order, all the BMA organizations, agencies under the supervision of the BMA, the BMA commercial organizations and Krungthep Thanakom Co. Ltd., shall regularly prepare, improve, and update its open government data via the BMA open government data system at website: https://data.bangkok.go.th/ and on its own website.  This includes the data disclosure on detailed budget spending, procurement, and revenue collection of the BMA according to the BMA policy on open data.  The general public can freely access government data which can also promote public awareness and transparency.  However, all the BMA organizations are strongly advised to act according to the law, privacy policy, confidentiality, and national security as well.  Moreover, in order to achieve tangible performance results, all the BMA organizations are instructed to set objectives, indicators, including approaches to monitor the organizational progress and report every 90 days. 

Disclosure policy of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (Open Data) will open up the area and give people the opportunity to participate in monitoring and developing policies.  It is considered a concrete participation of the people’s sector which will make the Bangkok a metropolis with transparency, all of its officers honestly perform their duties and all organizations can be inspected.
