NAKHON RATCHASIMA — 16 September 2026, More than 30 hornbills flew into the forest garden of Maison de Joy Villa Khaoyai in Pak Chong district on Wednesday morning, delighting tourists and guests who gathered to photograph the unusual sight.
The flock was spotted at the villa in Moo 2, Ban Mai Samakkhi, Mu Si subdistrict, surrounded by mountains and forest.
The hornbills arrived in the morning to forage for food in the garden and nearby forest before gradually flying back toward the forest and their nests later in the morning.
Tourists and guests staying at the villa rushed to capture photos and videos of the birds as they moved through the area.
The sighting was seen as another indication of the rich natural environment around Khao Yai, where forest and wildlife continue to coexist close to tourist areas.
Hornbills play an important role in forest ecosystems, particularly in seed dispersal. Their presence can help spread seeds of forest plants across different areas.
Pak Chong district, particularly areas near Khao Yai National Park, is known for its high biodiversity and regular sightings of wildlife foraging in natural habitats.
The appearance of more than 30 hornbills near the villa provided tourists with a rare glimpse of Khao Yai’s wildlife and became a memorable morning scene for visitors.
